A total of 225 teachers from 77 colleges and universities in 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps participated in the competition. The competition is a review of the teaching level and talent cultivating quality of music education across the country. It is also an important implementation of the opinions on comprehensively strengthening and improving school aesthetic education in the new era by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee.
The competition includes three parts: teaching exhibition (micro class), professional skills exhibition and aesthetic and humanistic quality exhibition. With the support of the school leaders, the participating teachers have actively prepared for the competition and displayed an outstanding performance, which demonstrated the comprehensive strength of our university. After the competition, the School of Music organized an experience exchange and sharing meeting, in which the participating teachers shared their harvest and insights on the direction of music education. Li Lin, Dean of the School of Music, emphasized that the school should constantly deepen the curriculum and teaching reform, innovate the talent training mode, improve the quality of talent training, build a high-quality professional and innovative music teacher team, and strive to cultivate application-oriented professionals to adapt to the needs of local development.
Since 1999, the basic skills exhibition held every two years by the Ministry of Education achieved remarkable results and good social response, leading the continuous teaching reform of college music education. This basic skills exhibition not only shows the talent of our teachers, but also plays a positive role in the reform and development of music education, improving the quality of professional team and talent training.
